Safety Concerns To Maintain Regarding Window Cleaning

No doubt, window cleaning is an important house chore for every property. But it’s not a break time task. You need to be prepared for it.

Before you climb up the ladder with the bucket full of soapy water, you should consider safety first. Though interior window cleaning may not seem as difficult as the exterior, but don’t be careless. After all, you shouldn’t compromise your health because of window cleaning. It will not be justifiable.

So, we are again with a new blog to discuss the safety measures for the window cleaning task.  If you are interested in knowing it, stay with us and dive into the paragraphs below.

The weather

Before anything else, you have to take a look at the weather first. Is it extremely hot, windy or rainy? It’s not the ideal time to go for window cleaning then.

Is it just rained? The ground may be slippery, which isn’t the right condition to set up the ladder. So, skip the decision of window cleaning.

Make sure the ground is well enough to support and handle the weight of the ladder with you.

The tools

Ensure that you collect the right equipment to perform the window cleaning like pros.

  • Bucket: It needs to be sturdy, with a good quality grip on the handle. Don’t fill up it completely. Take ¼ or half full of soapy water.
  • Squeegee: Take the first-rate squeegee. You will easily find it in stores. The quality ones will be in a metal frame and rubber blade.
  • Cleaning detergent: Make sure you choose a good cleaning solution or detergent for your windows. In the end, you don’t want a streak, right? You may prefer to use a few drops of our dishwashing liquid.
  • Scrubber/ Sponges: Make sure that the scrubber/sponges you have selected for the task are easy enough to grip. It’s better to take a sponge that you can hang on to.
  • Rags: It should be absorbent and clean. It will help to expunge drip and let the windows dry as soon as the cleaning is done. It can purposefully be located in the apparatus belt. Our recommendation is microfiber, as such material leaves a streak-free, lint-free shine.
  • Ladder: Test out the ladder to make out whether it’s in good condition and can hold your weight. Ensure you have triple points of contact all the time when on it, and move it after every one window to stop over-reaching. You may look for extra ladder accessories, for example, stabilizers and ladder mitts.

The Tips

Don’t jump for the window cleaning task alone. You should find a partner who will be at the spot and help you. The other one should hold the ladder while you are on it.
